Admissions Guide – 2019 / 2020


To be eligible to join the Blue Blossom Nursery, your child must be between the ages of 18 months and 5 years.

At Blue Blossom, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) provides the basis for Nursery (3-4 year olds) and Reception (4-5 year olds) curriculum. This stage covers seven areas of learning as shown in the diagram below.

Eligibility

  • 18 months to 5 years of age
  • Able to follow BASIC instructions in English

Here is the list of requirements every child should have:

Our requirements are simple, but necessary to help our process along.

  • Healthy snacks
  • Daily Change of clothes
  • Wipes/tissue box
  • Mosquito repellent
  • Face towels
  • One pair of CROC rubber-soled shoes

Blue blossom nursery schedule

School hours are from 8 am to noon, Monday to Friday..

All parents will be informed of specific term dates at the beginning of the school year.

Blue Blossom Nursery follows the Ghana International School Calendar.

Parents responsibility

Please inform teachers in advance of any travel plans during the school year, this will help them with their lesson plans. Parents should provide their child with the following items at the beginning of each term:

  • A complete change of clothing
  • One box of tissue
  • On a daily basis, each child should bring a small nutritious snack in an unbreakable container.
  • Children should not bring personal toys except on special days such as “sharing days” or “show and tell”.

Pick up and drop off

Parents or Guardians are responsible for their child's transportation arrangements.

Children should arrive at school between 8:00 and 8:30 am. They should be picked up promptly at noon.

Children who are enrolled for our AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES, will have to be picked up by 2.00pm.

When arriving in the morning, please exit the car in front of the gate and instruct the driver to park along the street. This is to permit other parents and children to have the same convenience of exiting their car in front of the entrance gate.
